American Greetings Properties Becomes American Greetings Entertainment; Readies New IP and Robust Care BearsTM Lineup for 2016 and Beyond
Best in Class Licensees and Digital Partners to Drive Future Growth

Los Angeles, October 6, 2015 – American Greetings Properties (AGP), the intellectual property and outbound licensing division of American Greetings Corporation, announces that the division has changed its name to American Greetings Entertainment to better reflect the Company’s focus on strategic expansion for its beloved Care Bears™ brand and development of new multi-platform character and creatively-driven entertainment intellectual properties (IP).

American Greetings Entertainment continues to grow its powerhouse Care Bears brand with a multi-million dollar investment in a new Netflix Original animated series, "Care Bears & Cousins," launching November 6, 2015, and a bevy of new licensing partners in various categories hitting retail as soon as holiday 2015. American Greetings Entertainment has also partnered with Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, the LA-based production company founded by Matt Senreich and Seth Green, on another Netflix Original series called "Buddy Thunderstruck™," with 12 episodes of action-packed stop-motion animation set for release in 2017.

Digital Growth Strategy Continues

As true digital natives, Care Bears take sharing even further with their website and hundreds of thousands of fans on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and YouTube, allowing fans to experience the brand anywhere, anytime. The Care Bears fan base is engaging digitally in a huge way with over 18 million collective downloads for its apps. The new apps include different storytelling formats such as games, appisodes, storybooks, chat stickers and trading cards. These apps will be in the market by the end of 2015, and 10 more apps are in development for 2016. Top-tier digital partners include Ubisoft, Plumzi, Ruckus Media Group, Playdate Digital, TwigTale, Gamepill, Budge Studios, NeonMob, Bare Tree Media and Night and Day Studios.

American Greetings will release a free Countdown to Christmas app this November and has published five digital "Welcome to Care-a-Lot" books for Kindle which are now available on Amazon. In addition, the brand is expanding to new platforms which will be available on Apple Watch and Apple tvOS in the coming months.
