World-renowned Brazilian born pop artist, Romero Britto, is set to further extend his footprint in the licensing world after partnering with leading global brand extension agency, Beanstalk, earlier this year. Capturing the painter and sculptor’s quintessential visual style and universal themes of love, happiness, and hope, Beanstalk will strategically extend the Britto brand across Europe and North America while working with existing licensees to develop and launch additional branded products.
Born in 1963 to a family of modest means, self-taught artist Romero Britto is globally recognised for his playful combining of cubism and pop, as well as creative use of vibrant colours and patterns, coming together to create a unique aesthetic expression which radiates warmth, happiness and love. From canvas and sculptures to installations and public works, Britto’s art is currently represented in galleries, museums, public spaces and shops in over 100 countries around the world. His iconic style and pop sensibility has also led to numerous brand collaborations, including the celebrated campaign with Absolut Vodka for a limited-edition ‘Absolut Art’ bottle.
To extend Britto’s reach as an optimistic, playful, and imaginative lifestyle brand that embodies the enlightened spirit of its founder, Beanstalk is seeking best-in-class partners across a variety of categories, including apparel and accessories, home furnishings and décor, housewares, toys and games, consumer electronics accessories, and stationery, among others. The agency will also explore co-branded partnerships and retailer exclusives for Britto, building on the extraordinary success of previous high profile partnerships with brands such as Evian, Bentley, Disney and Coca-Cola.
Lisa Reiner, Managing Director of Beanstalk Europe and Asia Pacific, says, “We are thrilled to be working with such an inspiring and talented artist and look forward to securing licensee partners that are capable of truly capturing the essence of his distinctively engaging visual expression. Meanwhile, the brand’s extension into consumer products supports Britto’s long-held belief that art is too important not to share by offering even more people the opportunity to delight in the joy and optimism Britto exudes through his creations.”
