Moomin Characters and Bulls Licensing report record revenues

Moomin Characters and master agent Bulls Licensing report record revenues for the Moomin brand year to date 2015. With a 27 percent revenue increase worldwide, Moomin now reports its highest ever sales increase and brand growth.

The brand has enjoyed 10 years of continuous growth, from €2,3 million in 2004 to €14 million in 2014.

”The sales increase has been driven by a very strong domestic market in the Nordics as well as incredible growth in Asia”, says Gustav Melin, Global Licensing Director at Bulls Licensing.

”Sub-agent SMC in Korea have increased their Moomin business by a fantastic 537 percent year to date. In Japan Moomin is one of top three brands and in China the Moomins were recently nominated one of top 10 international licensed brands”, continues Mr Melin.

Sales have also been fuelled by several anniversary incentives; 2014 the brand celebrated ”Tove 100”, a tribute to Moomin creator, writer, artist and illustrator Tove Jansson, born in 1914. This year the brand has focused on ”Moomin 70”, the anniversary of the first Moomin book ever published; ”The Moomins and the Great Flood”.

”We’d like to thank our customers for an incredible year so far, which saw demand for Moomin products soar to an all-time high,” says Roleff Kråkström, CEO at Moomin Charachters.

Gustav Melin continues: ”With over 600 active licensees worldwide, the Moomins have an estimated retail value of over €600 million. We are looking forward to further growth, continuing our retail focus and drive into markets such as the Middle East, South America and Iberia. We are aiming to close this year with our 40:th quarter of continuous growth for the Moomins”.
