Preview Statement: Entertainment One Licensing (eOne) at Brand Licensing Europe 2015

Entertainment One Licensing (eOne) will be returning to Brand Licensing Europe 2015 to showcase its growing portfolio which includes preschool properties Peppa Pig and Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom, teen lifestyle brand SO SO Happy, hip-hop record label Death Row Records and new film properties The BFG and Ricky Gervais’ Life on the Road.

Firmly established as a leading preschool property in several international territories, Peppa Pig will lead Entertainment One’s presentation slate. This year the property launched in China and at mass market retail in the USA. eOne is rapidly expanding the brand’s retail footprint in Australia, Latin America and Central Eastern Europe and merchandise will launch at retail in Canada from 2016.

BAFTA and Emmy award-winning animated TV show Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom continues to build in the UK following a successful brand refresh and new toy line from Character Options. On the back of strong broadcast ratings, the brand is also gaining a foothold in Spain, Italy and Australia where merchandise is rolling out.

eOne’s lifestyle division will be bringing its LA based design brand SO SO Happy to Brand Licensing Europe. There have been a raft of new partnerships for the teen girls brand including cosmetics partner Kelly Teegarden Cosmetics, boutique fashion label Iron Fist and accessories supplier Loungefly. With a pop-up shop launching in the UK from September 2015, eOne is building momentum for the brand across Europe and will be using BLE as a platform to introduce it to new partners. In addition to SO SO Happy, eOne will be boosting the Lifestyle division’s cool credentials by presenting licensing opportunities for the record label Death Row Records, acquired by eOne Music in 2013.

New to eOne’s slate this year are two exciting new movie properties The BFG and Life on the Road. The licensor will showcase pan-European licensing opportunities for the highly anticipated big budget movie adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic The BFG. The new movie is co-produced by DreamWorks Studios and Walt Disney Studios, directed by Academy Award-winning Steven Spielberg, with Mark Rylance in the title role and a score by the legendary composer John Williams. Showing all the hallmarks of a modern day classic, The BFG movie is set for release in summer 2016 to co-incide with Roald Dahl centenary celebrations and eOne will be distributing the movie in the UK.

British actor and comedian Ricky Gervais will be reviving his much-loved character David Brent from the hit TV sitcom The Office in the upcoming spin-off movie Life on the Road. Written and directed by Gervais, Life on the Road follows David Brent 15 years after his redundancy from Wernham Hogg as he goes on the road to pursue his dreams of becoming a musician. eOne will be distributing the film in the UK in August 2016 and eOne licensing will manage consumer products in Europe with a focus on the adult gift and novelty sector.

For licensing opportunities Entertainment One will be exhibiting in Booth F005 and diaries are now open for appointments.
